In the year 2023, during the pandemic period, the NGO supported three tribal girls from Murbad Taluka, near the Malshejghat hill areas, Thane district. All three girls belong to very poor families. We tried our best to support them.
We are grateful to our regular donors, Ms. Radhika Sasahne, Ms. Jyothi Singh, Ms. Amrita Pai, Ms. Vandana Arora, Ms. Bindu Hingwala, and her friends circle for their generous support.
1st Girl
She got married on 17th April 2023. She is 22 years old, has passed 10th grade, and belongs to a family of agricultural labourers. Her father died due to COVID-19, so she had to work in the fields and send her younger sister to school. The groom also passed 10th grade. We counselled them to join training courses, and finally, they agreed and joined a vocational training course at SupremeTech Institute, Saralgaon to help transform their married life and set an example in their community. We supported them in all possible ways for their marriage.
2nd Girl
She got married on 5th May 2023. She is a 23-year-old tribal girl from Awalegaon, Malshejghat, and has completed B.Ed training but could not find any teaching jobs within 100 km. She is the highest-educated girl in both her family and her in-laws’ family. She got married in Murbad, where she could have access to teaching jobs.
3rd Girl
She got married on 7th May 2023 in Ahmednagar. She is a 23-year-old girl from Savarne, Malshejghat, Murbad Taluka, who has completed B.Com but has no job opportunities in the surrounding area. As a result, she had no choice but to work as an agricultural labourer for other people. She may try to find jobs in Ahmednagar in the future.
