In the year 2023, during the pandemic period, the NGO supported three tribal girls from Murbad Taluka, near the Malshejghat hill areas, Thane District. All three girls belonged to very poor families, and we tried our best to support them.
We are grateful to our regular donors — Ms. Radhika Sasahne, Ms. Jyothi Singh, Ms. Amrita Pai, Ms. Vandana Arora, Ms. Bindu Hingwala and her friends circle — for their generous support.
1st Girl
The first girl got married on 17th April 2023. She is 22 years old, 10th passed, and belongs to a family of agricultural labourers. Her father died due to COVID, so she had to work in the fields while sending her younger sister to school. The groom is also 10th passed. We counselled both of them to join training courses, and they agreed. They joined a vocational training course from SupremeTech Institute, Saralgaon to build a better future and become an example in their community. The NGO supported them in all possible ways for their marriage.
2nd Girl
The second girl got married on 5th May 2023. She is a 23-year-old tribal girl from Awalegaon, Malshejghat. She completed B.Ed training but could not find any teaching job within a 100 km radius. She is the highest educated girl in both her family and her in-laws’ family. She got married in Murbad so that she could find teaching job opportunities nearby.
3rd Girl
The third girl got married on 7th May 2023 in Ahmednagar. She is a 23-year-old girl from Savarne, Malshejghat, Murbad Taluka, who completed her B.Com but had no job opportunities in the surrounding areas. She had no choice but to work as an agricultural labourer for others. She may try for job opportunities in Ahmednagar in the future.
